This morning I flew to Phoenix, and then drove a couple hours north to Sedona to photograph and engagement session for an awesome couple whose wedding I’ll be shooting next year. Sedona is an absolutely gorgeous place to shoot! Everywhere you look there’s an amazing landscape and beautiful light reflecting of the red rock canyons. It also helps to have an amazing couple to photograph! Audra and Adam are getting married in Temecula next year, but currently live and go to school in Flagstaff, AZ. They spend a lot of time visiting Sedona (a half hour south of Flagstaff), and this town has been a special part of their relationship. In fact, this is where Adam proposed. That significance is what brought me out here to shoot. These guys are as sweet as can be, and I had the best time hanging out with them all afternoon.
Before we headed out to shoot, we met up at a coffee shop they visit every time they’re in town. I shot a few simple portraits behind the coffee shop to let them loosen up and get comfortable.

We headed over the spot where Adam proposed, along a trail just off the main road a couple miles out of town. Here’s a sweet kiss at the same spot as the proposal.

I’ll be back in San Diego tomorrow to begin a little three day vacation from shooting. It’s been a busy couple of weeks, and I’m looking forward to a little relaxation and some time to catch up on computer work. I may even have some time to finish up the design on my new blog!

You did a beautiful job on our daughter’s engagement session. Her Dad teared up when he saw the first picture of her and Adam. We definitely choose the right photographer for this very important time in our daughters life.
